This is the first I've read from this author. While I did enjoy the book, there were times that I thought either I was missing something that may have been covered in the other books in the series (I wasn't aware of the others prior to reading) or that there was so much going on there wasn't enough time to tie up all the questions that were left hanging. That said, the story was interesting, it kept you guessing and on your toes. There was suspense, a bit of mystery, action, some darkness, comic relief and when they finally gave in to it, heat. Smith is definitely all Alpha, Kate needs a bit of work, understandably so, but also has that fiery, red-head thing going on. It's fun to watch the two of them dance around each other in the beginning, trying to determine who will 'win' and who will give in and then as the pages turn, the changes in their dynamic as well.
