This isn't the typical HEA at the end of the trilogy, heck, this isn't the typical trilogy. Preston and Kit's story is broken and dysfunctional to put it mildly. Through it all, through the ups and downs, the smiles and the tears, the fights and the making up, these two beat the house, against all odds. Their story put me through the ringer of emotions, pushing me so close to the edge only to pull me back at the last minute.
I was one of the lucky ones that read the whole trilogy back to back to back, but I do know that the conclusion to their story would have been well worth the wait had I read the first two when they first came out.
