Coming into this story, I was thinking it was going to be like Fallen Royal. I was wrong. Kind of. For me, this story started out very slow. The back and forth between King and Del wasn't anything like I anticipated. Unrequited love, or so it seemed, King was doing his best to be a stand up guy, no matter what it cost him. That wasn't the H I thought I was getting. But then, little by little it shifted. I started to see more in King. More in Del. I felt her inner-conflict. Heart or mind, body or soul. Then, one tragic event changed it all. As much as I liked seeing the strong, powerful King, I really liked who he was with Del when it was just the two of them. The King and his Queen ready to defend their kingdom.
The story has its fair share of secrets, lies and manipulations. And I will say, once the ball started rolling, I couldn't stop reading. I HAD to know what happened, the who and the why kept my head spinning and I loved how it was all revealed. Again, after reading this story, I'm more intrigued to learn more about the Eagle Elite... now to find the time to dive into that world~
