Warner and Imogen have known each other since high school, where Warner was her brother's best friend... you know, her brother Ford Jacobs, another star on the new team Warner plays for? To say there is bad blood between them wouldn't even be scratching the surface. I loved getting the little tidbits here and there to confirm that there is something major that happened between the three of them. Watching Warner try to make amends only to be shut down time and again by Imogen and the arctic shoulder that seems a permanent part of Ford toward him just got me more and more curious about the past. When we finally find out what it is, my chin hit the ground and I was totally taken by surprise. I certainly didn't see that coming, maybe others did, but nope, total surprise on my end. He's a persistent one though, of course it helps that the team puts he and Imogen together to gain media favor. I loved that Imogen showed her layers, especially when it comes to Warner.
The story has depth, history, a bit of deja vu, seggual tension, deepening character connections, camaraderie and some snark. Their past isn't forgotten, but everyone deserves a second chance, don't they?" ~Shirley


"So much to love about the fourth book in the Hockey Hotties series. Each story does read as a stand-alone but previous characters obviously are featured and honestly you just need to read every book anyway. They are just that good.
I am a fan of second chance at love romances, and after finishing this book I think Warner and Imogen’s story was one of the best I have read in some time. Their chemistry was apparent right from the start so feelings for each other were still there. It was exciting to read them finally give a relationship another shot but it was also shocking to find out why they split up in the first place. Sometimes I can guess what the conflict might be in the book, but in this case I was totally blindsided. Warner’s teammates add so much to the story as well, and towards the end of the book it becomes apparent who the next book will feature. I know I am going to love it.
