Right now I wanted to just be here in silence with my best friend. And somehow, I don’t know how, but Luna sensed it. So we sat there for what felt like two hours but was probably a lot less, until I opened my eyes again. Her eyes were closed, too. I watched her for a while.
When she opened her eyes, it felt like she took something away from me.
“Let’s jump,” she said.
“I’m quite fond of my limbs, Moonshine.”
“Stop being such a big baby.”
“Big, quarterback baby who just finished a football season in one piece and would like to keep all his body parts intact.”
She crawled out of the treehouse and settled on the branch. It was thick, but I doubted it could carry my muscular ass for more than a few seconds before snapping. I rolled my eyes and settled next to her. She slipped her hand in mine.
“Three, two, one.”
It was a short, sweet way down.

I know when I need a book with a jerk, I can always count on L.J. Shen! I’m not sure how she can make you love them and want to punch them at the same time but she does! And she didn’t disappoint with Broken Knight. Luna and Knight’s story is just amazing. I love that she started the story out with a little background of their relationship. We were able to get a read on how they connected. I wanted to just put my hands in the story and shake them both and tell them to knock it off and get together! They are both so broken in different ways and they both break you at the same time! Their story will tear you apart and put you back together. L.J. Shen gave us another amazing story from Todos Santos! I don’t think I will ever get tired of hearing from the Hotholes. ~Amber
I don’t know if I can add anything new with my review that hasn’t probably already been said. If you are a fan of LJ Shen of course you are going to love this book. If LJ Shen is new to you - you are going to love this book.
Nobody writes a story the way this author can. The way she weaved Knight & Luna’s romance is so completely different to any other book you have already read or are ever going to read. There are no hearts and flowers. It is just an extremely intense gritty read. And I loved every single word.
