RELEASE BLITZ: Second Shot with #76 by Piper Rayne
Second Shot with #76 by Piper Rayne is now live!
My mom always said you don't get a second shot at making a first impression. I've remembered that my entire career. Especially since I'm one of the few black men who play professional hockey.
I'm calculated and respectful in the way I speak to my coaches, the owners, and the media. I've never taken a risk... until her.
I could blame it on the fact that for once I pushed away the pressure of my career for the ocean waves, the sand, and good times with my new teammates. But those are excuses because the minute I saw her at the airport, something lit up inside me and the best week of my life was spent with her in my bed.
After our week in paradise, we said goodbye, exchanged phone numbers and both assumed that unless one of us was flying through the other's city on the opposite side of the country, our vacation fling was over.
Then one night after practice I see her. She's here. In my city. Telling me she moved here for a job. If that's not fate tell me what is.
I've never wanted a second shot more than I do this time, but she's determined to leave what we were on the island we left behind.

"These guys, this team... to say they've grown on me would be an understatement. I really like how not only is there a sense of family between the team, but their ladies as well.
Cory and Ande met a while back in an island paradise, all too soon reality came rushing back and while they both enjoyed their vacation, the real world beckoned. Seems fate intervened and the two somehow end up in the same place after both their careers took a different path. However, there is quite the wrench thrown into to the mix. While we see through the manipulation, there are just some things that a broken past makes exceedingly hard to shake loose. By the time the secrets and lies are revealed, there is no turning back. Is it too late, is what's done, done, or is there a second chance to be had?" ~Shirley
"I have read every book in this series and it hurts me to say this is my least favorite of them all. I adored Cory so much but it was Ande who just rubbed me the wrong way. I know a large part of it is because of her sister, and she did at times want to confess what she was up to but surely she could have tried harder!!
I know conflict between the two main characters in romance novels is mostly a given, and I do love to read that, but once again this didn’t sit well with me. Just a personal preference I suppose.
There were plenty of other parts to this story that I did really enjoy and it is always great to catch up with the previous characters as well. Now the next and quite possible the last book is one that I have chomping at the bit to read and I can’t believe it is almost here. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book." ~Sharon
