Book 2 picks up right where book 1 finished off at. Patty seems to come into his own in this book. He may not have necessarily wanted to be the guy in charge but it seems to come naturally to him. He mostly thinks and acts with a clear head and doesn’t really let his emotions rule him. Except of course when I comes to Lyla.
In such a harsh and cruel world they live in, what they have with each other is refreshing. Lyla is proving herself to be every bit as strong as Patrick and it is quite addictive to read these two bounce off each other. Of course it ends on another cliffhanger but I cannot wait to the last book to have so many questions I still have answered. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book

Just when you think Patrick and Kyla are going to get their HEA something always happens. This installment of the trilogy was nonstop action from beginning to end. Kyla and Patrick grow closer as more threats swirl around them. It was satisfying getting to see the layers of Patrick and his underlying foundation to protect all he cares for. Kyla grows more and more into the role of mafia wife. there is danger and a mole in the family threatening everyone. The cliffe was a huge rush!
