Blog Review ~ Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward

Mister Moneybags

From the New York Times Bestselling authors of Cocky Bastard and Stuck-Up Suit, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

I met Bianca in an elevator.

She was on her way to interview me when we got stuck.
The beautiful raven-haired reporter assumed I was a delivery guy because of the way I was dressed.

She had no clue I was really Dex Truitt, the wealthy, successful businessman she’d dubbed “Mister Moneybags”―her afternoon appointment.

Bianca told me how much she hated Dex’s type―snobby, over educated, silver-spooned men who didn't appreciate the simple things in life.

So, after the elevator finally started moving again, I cancelled the interview and let her believe I was someone I wasn’t―a bike messenger named Jay. I loved the way she looked at the fake me and didn't want it to end.

I began dating her as “Jay”―all the while letting her interview the real me over email.

I didn’t expect that our chemistry online would be just as hot.
I didn’t expect the mess I’d gotten myself into.
I didn’t expect that Jay and Dex would fall in love with her.

And she was falling for two men.
Only, both men were me.
And when she found out, we were both going to lose her.

Nothing could have prepared me for that day. And I certainly wasn't prepared for what came after.

All good things must come to an end, right?
Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.

Once again, Penelope and Vi, KILLED IT!!! I don't know how they met, but I'm so glad that they did and that they started writing together!

Dex Truitt. Or as Bianca George likes to call him, "Mister Moneybags". That's who Bianca is talking to when she gets stranded in a dark elevator with a man while on her way up to interview Dex. But what Bianca doesn't know is the man in the elevator is actually Dex. But since she doesn't know what Dex looks like, she doesn't know that she's talking down to the man himself. Dex is intrigued by her though, so in order for him to keep her around and get to know her, since he obviously can't let her know who he really is, he makes up a whole new person.
Jay.
While Bianca dates Jay, she's interviewing Dex Truitt over emails to get the story she was supposed to the day the elevator malfunctioned, she starts to realize that Mister Moneybags isn't the rich douchebag she originally thought. She starts to fall for both men at the same time. During this whole scheme of lies and love, we find out that when the truth comes out about Dex/Jay, getting Bianca's trust back isn't going to be the hardest obstacle in their way.

After Bianca finds out that Jay isn't real and that he was Dex all along, they start over with Dex trying to get Bianca's trust back. But once they're in deep, they realize that they have family drama that completely intertwines with their relationship and could end it before it really even began.

This whole book was hilarious and heartwarming. Dex is such a down to earth and sweet guy. He just wants Bianca in his life. He just want to see where things go with her. And the whole whittling aspect of it really cracked me up. It's such an obscure art, and completely random. I absolutely loved it. And maybe I spent some time on YouTube looking it up.

With every book that this duo writes together, they keep getting better and better. This book was FANTASTIC and I definitely recommend everyone read it, along with the other book Penelope and Vi have written together.
