Desolation by AJ Alexander is book 1 in the La Famiglia trilogy. This is the story of the mafia princess, Francesca (aka Frankie), and her bodyguard Marcus. Marcus is brought into the “family “ at a young age and the moment he meets Frankie, it’s love at first sight. However, “La Famiglia before all others.”

This is a very short, fast paced mafia book. While the writing is decent, the fact that it is so short meant that there was no time for character development....at all. I feel like this book could have been worth more stars if it hadn’t been so rushed. 3.5 stars from me.   ~Carole


Enjoyable, quick story. Frankie and Marcus have always known but the family always comes first, so the love they have for one another has always been hidden....but when the truth comes out, will they get what they deserve? ~Jen
